What personal data RaceWise collects, why we use it, and your choices. Last updated: September 2026.
1. Who is responsible RaceWise operates the website and member application. For privacy questions contact info@racewise.co.uk.
2. Data we collect Account data — name, email, password (hashed), and profile details you provide. Membership & billing — plan status and payment records handled via our payment provider (for example Stripe); we do not store full card numbers. Usage data — how you use the app (pages, features, device/browser basics) to operate and improve the service. Communications — messages you send via contact or support channels. Optional Betfair session — when you connect Betfair, session details are used as described in Settings.
3. How we use data We use personal data to provide and secure the service, manage memberships, send service communications, improve RaceWise, and meet legal obligations. We do not sell your personal data.
4. Legal bases (UK GDPR) Depending on the activity, we rely on contract (providing the service you signed up for), legitimate interests (securing and improving the product), consent where required, and legal obligation where applicable.
5. Sharing We may share data with infrastructure and payment providers who process it on our instructions, and with authorities when required by law. Third-party exchanges (such as Betfair) process activity under their own terms when you trade there.
6. Retention We keep account and billing records for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward for security, dispute, and legal purposes, then delete or anonymise where practicable.
7. Your rights Under UK data protection law you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing, and to data portability. Contact us to exercise these rights. You may also complain to the ICO (ico.org.uk).
8. Cookies and similar tech We use cookies and similar technologies necessary for authentication, security, theme preference, and service operation. Age-confirmation preference on advertising landing pages may be stored in your browser.
The Contact form uses Google reCAPTCHA to help block automated abuse. Google may set cookies or collect device and usage data when reCAPTCHA runs. Google’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Service apply to that processing.
9. Changes We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do.
